Mod Get Pixel nav keys on the Galaxy S8 with this no root mod

If you like tinkering with things and don’t particularly care for the Galaxy S8(+)’s new Samsung Experience on-screen keys, you’re in luck. Senior member Tigerhoods over at XDA-developers has come up with a mod in the form of a small APK that replaces the Samsung nav keys with an overlay to look like those nav buttons found on the Google Pixel. All without needing root!

The best news of all is that you can still change the color of the nav bar as you normally would in the Samsung settings, and you can also still change the order of your nav buttons. Before we tell you how to get started, know that there is always risk associated with installing apps that are not available directly from the Play Store. With that out of the way, let’s get started.

Head to this XDA post and download the attached APK. Opening the APK may take up to 10 seconds. Once the prompt pops up, Install th e APK and allow the installation from “unknown sources” if prompted. Hit “Done” and restart. That’s all!

To remove the mod, simply go into your apps list and uninstall “com.android.systemui.product.res.overlay”, then restart and you’ll be back to normal.

Nokia 9 appears on GeekBench again this time with 4GB of RAM

Twenty-seven new GeekBench results have appeared for a device named “Unknown heart”, complete with a Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB of RAM. Thanks to some other leaked photos we’ve seen, we know that the “Heart” refers to the unreleased/unannounced Nokia 9.

Just a few days ago, the Nokia 9 was spotted on GeekBench with 8GB of RAM. Seeing that much RAM in a phone could only mean that the phone could be headed for the spec-competitive Asian markets. But seeing as there’s another model being tested with 4GB of RAM, it could mean the Nokia 9 will also be intended for western markets like North and South America where 4GB is the norm.

According to previous rumors, the Nokia 9 could see a price tag of $700 in the US and €750 in Europe. Otherwise, the Nokia 9 will have a 5.3-inch QHD screen, 64GB of internal storage, and will be Quick Charge 3.0 compatible. There will also be a dual-13MP camera setup.

LG V20 S name trademarked in Europe

Europe has bad luck with large-screened flagships. Last year there was no Galaxy Note5 and this year the LG V20 launched in the US and South Korea and the Old Continent wasn’t even mentioned. A trademark filing shows that euro luck may be changing.

The trademark is for the LG V20 S, a smartphone. It was filed in Germany in both English and German, but covers the whole world. And that’s all there is for now.

We don’t have any details on the “V20 S” model but we seriously hope this isn’t an “LG G5 SE” situation (which swapped G5’s flagship chipset for a mid-range one).

Thanks for the tip, Michel
